This Week's Journal
How Many Versions of You Exist?
This week felt like a lifetime.
One moment I was dancing at our annual Titanic's End Burning Man Summer Camp.
The next, I was hosting a Founders Bay event for women founders, surrounded by builders, investors, and entrepreneurs chasing big dreams.
A few days later, I was at the You.com offsite talking about the future of AI with some of the smartest people I've ever met.
Three completely different worlds.
Same week.
Same me.
And somewhere between the dance floor, the event room, and the conference room, I found myself thinking:
** How many versions of ourselves exist? **
There’s the mom.
The founder.
The builder.
The leader.
The dreamer.
The woman who loves dancing until sunrise.
For so much of my life, I felt pressure to fit neatly into a category.
To have a clear answer for who I was.
But human beings were never meant to fit inside a single box.
We’re allowed to evolve.
We’re allowed to change.
We’re allowed to surprise ourselves.
This weekend, I got my first tattoo.
The Titanic’s End iceberg.
Over the last year, this community has brought friendship, adventure, creativity, and so much joy into my life.
Somewhere along the way, it also reminded me of parts of myself I had forgotten.
Parts that don’t fit neatly into a title or a role.
Parts that are playful, curious, spontaneous, and free.
Every time I look at this tattoo, I’ll be reminded that I don’t have to choose between the different versions of who I am.
I can be ambitious and playful.
A leader and a beginner.
A mother and an adventurer.
A builder and a dreamer.
Maybe growing up isn’t becoming one thing.
Maybe it’s finally giving yourself permission to be everything you already are.
And finding people along the way who see every version of you.
