Liam, you just turned 6!

When you were born, the doctor told me something I wasn’t ready to hear.

Cerebral palsy

He said you might never walk.

I remember nodding…
like I understood.

I didn’t.

I remember looking at other kids running…
and then looking at you—

and wondering what your world would look like.

But I carried it quietly,
wondering how hard the world would be for you.

You didn’t see limits.

You just kept trying.

Again.
And again.
And again.

And then one day—

you stood.

I don’t think anyone in that room understood what that meant to me.

It wasn’t just a step.

It was every moment before it.
Every fall.
Every time you could have stopped…
but didn’t.

And then you walked.

Not perfectly.
Not easily.

But you did it anyway.

You are 6 today.

And I want you to know something—

you were never behind.

You were just doing it your way.

As I build companies, communities, and ideas…
I think about you more than anyone knows.

Because building looks like this.

Uncertain.
Slow.
Invisible to everyone except the person in it.

People talk about resilience like it’s strategy.
